Frequently asked questions
Any other coaches you recommend?
I’ve personally worked with some great coaches:
Sharna Fey (as part of coaching training at Google)
I’ve met many other excellent coaches on my journey:
What resources do you recommend to develop my leadership skills?
If I thought that you could develop leadership skills just by reading a book, I would write one. It is my firm belief that you need to combine lived experience and experiential learning to gain insights into what works for you and what is holding you back. And I think of coaching as the best 1:1 form of experiential learning.
But 1000 years of Icelandic heritage has made me a book addict too. Some of the books on leadership I’ve been recommending lately:
Unleashed: The Unapologetic Leader's Guide to Empowering Everyone Around You
Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career
Team Geek: A Software Developer's Guide to Working Well with Others
Thanks for the Feedback: The Science and Art of Receiving Feedback Well
Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High
On the podcast/video side, I often refer clients to:

The Jefferson Fisher Podcast (YouTube) : straightforward suggestions for better workplace communications
Duarte, Inc. (YouTube) : storytelling is so essential in leadership, and I’ve learned a lot from Duarte’s trainings over the years
